A Waste of Time   Leave a comment

Scotia Night Poetry

When I was a young boy asked to perform some chore
I would often reply, “in a minute”. I thought the use of
such a phrase might enable me to postpone the task.

It never did.

From as far back as I can remember my time-keeping
has been poor. I have been late for dates, interviews
hospital appointments and important meetings.

Time held no value.

Auden said, “Time will say nothing but I told you so”,
but time moved too fast for me to hear or perhaps I
chose not to listen.

I have wasted time.

Time has unexpectedly slowed in middle age. I appreciate
the minutes and the hours spent with loved ones and in
doing those things that I enjoy.

Time to relax.

Inevitably time will speed up once more but I don’t mind. It
feels like standing on loose sand and sinking – sometimes
slowly, often not…

Change the world by changing me   Leave a comment

simply lovely!

Life is but a dream!

The Sufi Bayazid says this about himself:

I was a revolutionary when I
was young and all my prayer to God was
‘Lord give me the energy to change
the world.’

As I approached middle age and realized
that half my life was gone without my
changing a single soul, I changed my
prayer to ‘Lord, give me the grace to
change all those who come in contact
with me. Just my family and friends,
and I shall be satisfied.’

Now that I am an old man and my days
are numbered, my only prayer
is, ‘Lord, give me the grace to change
myself.’ If I had prayed for this right
from the start I would not have wasted
my life.

You Are What You Eat   Leave a comment

Great post… we are responsible for knowing, doing, and being!

Be Beautiful and Dance.

There’s no one else to blame.

Beauty is not hidden, it surrounds us at all times in all forms. The Illuminati is not secretly designing hatefulness behind the scenes for profit and fun. No one forces us to knowingly eat poisonous foods, support fear based news, watch reality television that is used to ridicule and demean, visit gossip sites, or entertain pornography. The ways in which we decide to feed our body, spirit, and mind are quickly revealed by our disposition.

It is not a secret that nutrition is the #1 prevention and cure for illness. Just as your body breaks down from inflammation, cancer, and diabetes, caused by a diet high in processed, sugar-laden, non-foods; so does the mind deteriorate from a diet of low-brow entertainment, accepting uninformed opinions, and laziness. And what is it we feed our Spirit these days but dualistic and conformist propaganda?

If we are…
